What this site is

DeFi Safety Tools publishes educational material about decentralised finance, wallets, and the tools that read on-chain data. Everything here is written for a general reader who wants to understand how these systems work. Access is free and does not require an account.

No financial advice

Nothing on this site is investment, legal, or tax advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. We do not know your circumstances. Read the Risk Disclaimer before acting on anything you read here.

We never hold your funds or your keys

We do not custody assets, do not run trading systems on your behalf, and never ask for a wallet address, seed phrase, or private key. No legitimate site will ever ask you for a seed phrase. If something on the internet asks you for one while using our name, it is not us.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to products — hardware wallets in particular — carry a referral identifier, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them. The identifier sits in the URL; it does not change the price you pay and it does not give us your identity. Which links are commercial is set out in our Affiliate Disclosure, and no partner reviews or approves our editorial text before publication.

Advertising and cookies

This site does not currently run third-party advertising. If that changes, our Privacy Policy will name every provider that places cookies here before it happens, and you will be able to opt out of personalised advertising.

Accuracy and corrections

We try to describe protocols and tools accurately, but the field moves quickly and a page can fall out of date. If you find an error, write to us from Contact with the page address and what looks wrong. Corrections are made in the article itself, not in a comment thread, and material corrections are noted at the bottom of the page.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape this site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, do not republish whole articles without permission, and do not present our content as advice you received from a licensed professional. Automated access for search indexing is welcome.

Third-party links and services

We link out to documentation, block explorers, wallet vendors, and news sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their terms, or their security. Following an outbound link means you are then subject to that site's rules.

Intellectual property

The text on this site is ours. You may quote short passages with a link back to the page. Republishing an article in full, or republishing many of them as a feed, is not permitted. Product names and logos belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions you make after reading it, including losses from using a tool, protocol, or wallet mentioned here.

When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
